AS MEMBERS OF THETA TAU, WE STRIVE TO BUILD OURSELVES PROFESSIONALLY IN ORDER TO PREPARE FOR THE WORKING INDUSTRY AND LIFE AFTER OBTAINING OUR EDUCATIONAL GOALS.

Coordination with the College of Engineering

Theta Tau works closely with the College of Engineering, our members actively volunteer for events such as conducting campus tours for potential incoming freshmen and transfers during Picnic Day and Decision Day! Additionally, our fraternity hosts events such as review sessions for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam on behalf of the College of Engineering.

Collaboration with the Internship and Career Center (ICC)

Theta Tau frequently works with the ICC to set up professional development workshops as well as volunteer opportunities. In the past, we have helped coordinate and endorse resume workshops and "Elevator Pitch" sessions. Students gain experience interacting with industry recruiters and learn valuable skills about building up their professional image. In addition, Theta Tau regularly assists with the various Career Fairs hosted by the ICC throughout the year. This allows our members to give back to the community while also networking with company representatives. Furthermore, we host presentations covering a range of topics, from professional dinner etiquette to interviewing skills.

Industry Info Sessions and Company Tours

Theta Tau frequently helps co-host and promote information sessions from various companies seeking to recruit engineering students. In the past, we have coordinated with employers like Gallo Wineries and Edwards Air Force Base to co-host information sessions. Students get an introduction to what the companies do and they get a chance to ask actual employees about their experiences in industry. On top of that, students will frequently have the opportunity to network with the recruiters and submit their resume for internship positions and career opportunities. Our very own Theta Tau alumnus, Rebecca Gabel, gave a presentation about GPS and their role in making Smart Bombs for Edwards AFB; our organization has a great network of alumnus already working in the field, and this is just one example of it.
